CHAP 4-POL 211- Fall 2019

                                          CHAP 4- Policy Analysis
“Constructing policy alternatives is perhaps the most important stage in the policy analysis process. Is analysts and policymakers cannot think of creative ways of solving problems, conventional approaches that may no longer be appropriate will continue to be used. “

Analyst should think about different way of approaching policy. By constructing policy alternatives, analysts are forced to think critically on how to approach a problem or situation both with the government and without it; which policy alternative is to be adopted, depends on how the policy analyst takes each of the proposed policy alternatives and applies each of the decision criteria to each alternative. Policy alternatives gives us the opportunity of analyzing the efficiency and cost of that alternative and gives us the chance to analyze the political acceptability of this alternative.

I believe that in order to ensure that a policy is fully analyzed, understood and implemented effectively, it is necessary to conduct a fair policy analysis and choosing a policy alternative based on that analysis, having in mind that a policy has to be assess before implementing an action.
